Need to know details

When do registrations open and close?

Registrations will open on 12 June, and will close on Friday 1 August.

This allows us to give enough notice to confirm numbers with our caterers and venues.

What are the pre-conference workshops?

NHT received feedback that it worked well in the past when the conference starts at 1pm on the first day, to allow Houses to travel in the morning and not have to book an extra night of accommodation, so we have implemented that again this year.

However, we know some people will be arriving the night before, so wanted to ensure we had an activity available for people to attend. Most other state peak bodies run pre-conference activities, so we thought we could try this out this year and see how it runs.

The pre-conference workshops are optional, and have a separate ticket to conference registration (still purchased through the same Humanitix platform). The cost is $25 for members, and $125 for non-members. This includes a 2.5 hour workshop and morning tea, with lunch being available to all delegates as they arrive.

Pre-conference workshop one - Cormac Russell

Cormac's pre-conference workshop will be an interactive session on the fundamentals of Asset Based Community Development, including:

  • What is it
  • What does it look like in practice
  • How to ‘do it’
  • What is our role?
  • Why does it matter
  • What enables/supports this to flourish

The session will be suited to Managers and staff in roles like Community Connector or similar.

Cormac's workshop is open to external attendees (tickets purchased through conference Humanitix platform).

Pre-conference workshop two - Greg Hince, Frontline Mind

Community connections – lasting change
How to stay safe and well while enabling community connections and enhancing collective influence for useful change

In this workshop, we will teach practical strategies that anyone can use to enhance safety and wellbeing, especially when working with challenging behaviours, volatile circumstances, trauma, and uncertainty. We will also look at how understanding context enables effective responses involving community connections and collaboration, and how to maximise your collective influence.
This workshop will be interactive, practical and fun (and will not involve powerpoint!).

Greg's pre-conference workshop is for Neighbourhood House staff, volunteers, community members and board members only.

Are there any discounts for multiple ticket purchases?

Yes! We're pleased to offer a package deal for members. If you are buying 4 member tickets, select the package deal to receive a discount of $200.

Is there an option to purchase individual day tickets?

We are not selling individual day tickets to the conference. However, we understand that attending the whole conference is not an option for everyone. In some circumstances, we may be able to accommodate a custom registration for our members. Please reach out to the NHT team with details of what day you would like to attend and we will do our best to ensure your attendance at your preferred sessions.

Can external delegates come to the conference?

We have a small number of external delegate tickets available (i.e. not a staff member, board member, volunteer, or community member from a Neighbourhood House).

However, we have reduced the number of external tickets from previous years, so these are limited in number and may be reserved for sponsors, partners etc.

This conference program has a focus on connecting and networking across Houses, so at times during the program, external delegates may find there is a not a suitable session for them to attend. Please keep this in mind when booking your ticket, and reach out to NHT if you have any questions.

Why can I not register multiple tickets under one name and phone number?

We need to register individual names and contact details for each attendee to ensure we can contact people in case of emergency, to capture any dietary or accessibility requirements, and to ensure an efficient check-in process.

If at any time after registering you need to change ticket details or would like to transfer a ticket from one person to another, please get in touch with NHT.

What are the payment options?

You can pay using a credit or debit card via the ticketing platform, or you can opt to pay by invoice which will be manually generated and sent to you a few days after your order.

Both payment options have a small transaction fee charged by Humanitix.

All invoice payments are due by 15 August.

What do I need to bring?

Please be aware that our main venue requires going outside to move between spaces and to the bathrooms.

Please bring:

  • warm clothing
  • wet weather gear
  • and don’t forget your wonderful costume if you are attending the dinner!
Where are the venues located this year?
