NFP’s have been impacted by the increased reporting requirements with new accounting standards AASB 1058 Income of Not-for-Profit Entities, AASB 15 Revenue from Contracts with Customers and AASB 16 Leases all applying for the first time, coupled with the implications arising from COVID-19. Significant delays were encountered to satisfy these increased requirements. To ensure adequate disclosures and accuracy of the financial statements further time was required to prepare the financial statements.

2020 Neighbourhood Houses Survey Summary
In April 2020, NHT undertook to a mapping exercise of the Neighbourhood House network to get an overview of
- what Houses were seeing as the current needs in their communities;
- what was needed to help address these needs;
- how they expected to spend the additional $20K allocated to each House;
- what future needs or issues might be, and
- what good things were happening in their communities.
This is a summary of NHT's findings.

Neighbourhood House Program, Crown property ownership changes
In 2020, Crown owned properties (occupied by Neighbourhood Houses) will be transferred to the Department of Communities and managed by Housing Tasmania.
From 1 February 2020 reporting of emergency and maintenance issues is to be made through: Housing Tasmania Portfolio Maintenance 1300 665 663
The affected Houses have been contacted directly by Community Services Policy and Programs.
Please note: There are no changes for Houses with leases through Housing Tasmania, or that have other lease arrangements (or own their own properties)
