Earlier this week the Australian Neighbourhood Houses and Centres Association (ANHCA) submitted a response to the Parliamentary Inquiry into Newstart.
This is a significant step forward for ANHCA and demonstrates the interest, commitment and shared vision of the state peak bodies.
Neighbourhood Houses Tasmania (NHT) (and the Network of Houses) are members of ANHCA. This means we are part of a huge network of 1000 Neighbourhood Houses and Centres across Australia.
The NHT State Conferences opens at lunchtime on Wednesday 25th September and will run over three days. Cormac Russell will take delegates on a journey to understand and explore Asset-Based Community Development in local communities.
We're excited to finally announce the launch of a fresh, revitalised and simplified website for the Network of Neighbourhood Houses. The website compliments the recent publication of the Handbook for Neighbourhood House boards, the Strategic Framework, and a set of new governance videos, also being launched today.
The website continues to offer the same information primarily for managers, board members, other staff and volunteers. It continues to be a useful portal to find out what else is going on in the Network of Neighbourhood Houses across Tasmania.
The Neighbourhood Houses Tasmania building in Derwent Park has a training and meeting room available for hire.
The room will hold up to 30 people in theatre layout or 24 seated at tables. There is a data projector/smart screen available in the room as well as white boards.
Hire includes access to our kitchen, urn and crockery however catering consumables must be supplied by you. There is an accessible toilet and limited on-site parking (ample street parking available).
NHT (on behalf of the Network) was invited to be part of this stakeholder meeting to share ideas on how we can do better in relation to stopping and preventing bullying. The main points from the discussion are captured in the communique.
