NAIDOC Local Grants Program

NAIDOC Week will be held from 3 – 10 July 2022.

NAIDOC Local Grants support communities to celebrate the histories, cultures, achievements, and contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples during NAIDOC Week.

Funding is available for communities and community organisations to help meet the costs of local NAIDOC events and activities.

2022 National NAIDOC Poster Competition

The National NAIDOC Committee invites Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists to submit their artwork for the 2022 National NAIDOC Poster Competition.

The winning artist will receive a $10,000 cash price (tax free) and their artwork will be used as the official 2022 National NAIDOC Week Poster. Additionally, they will receive a ticket for themselves and one guest to the National NAIDOC Awards ceremony.

Improving Wellbeing fund

The Tasmanian Community Fund’s Improving Wellbeing focus areas currently are:

  • Improving mental health/wellbeing outcomes;
  • Reducing violence including bullying;
  • Increasing educational engagement and attainment;
  • Enhancing preventable health outcomes;
  • Reducing homelessness;
  • Increasing community connection;
  • Reducing social isolation;
  • Diverting from the justice system;
  • Addressing addictive behaviours.

Funding available for between $100,000 - $500,000.

Building Digital Skills grant

The aim of the Building Digital Skills grants program is to enable organisations to support older Australians 50+ through free face-to-face contact (if safe to do so), either one-on-one or in small groups, to develop their digital skills and confidence, utilising the learning courses available on the Be Connected Learning site.

Available in $2,500; $5,000; $10,000; and $20,000 contract sizes.

Aboriginal Arts Program 

Arts Tasmania's Aboriginal Arts Program supports arts activities by Aboriginal artists and organisations that stimulate contemporary, traditional and non-traditional Aboriginal art forms and practice.

This program is focused on providing opportunities for professional development through mentorships, fellowships and activities that demonstrate strong developmental content.

The aim of this $10 000 grant is to support young artists or activities focused on working with young people (aged 0 to 25 years and under).

Tackling Tough Times Together 

The Tackling Tough Times Together (TTTT) grant program helps communities access the resources they need to support one another through the ongoing effects of the drought.

Grants of up to $10,000 will be available to specific eligible Local Government Areas only.

Skills Tasmania

The Skills Fund subsidises the cost of training for existing workers to develop their skills and build a productive and competitive workforce. The Skills Fund program subsidises the cost of training across a range of qualifications and skill sets across all industries with particular focus on priority industries.

Community Action

Community Action – the Tasmanian Community Fund will be seeking Community Action Grant applications for projects requesting $5,000 to $50,000 that improve wellbeing, increase workforce engagement, increase leadership capacity and improve community infrastructure.
